THE REC

Hailing from Ashford, Kent, The Rec was formed in 2017 by multi-instrumental brothers Lewis & Scott Cale; writing, recording and performing original music together with virtuoso guitarist Jacob Topman.

The Rec’s style draws upon the light & shade of early 70's rock combined with their own strong melodies and vocal harmonies. The band also play a handful of covers, most usually when they perform their alternative stripped-back acoustic set.

The Rec receives fantastic support from local Radio Ashford 107.1FM; Ashford Music and Arts Community (AMAC) and local promoters and has played at various festivals and venues including The Booking Hall, Dover supporting Slam Cartel in 2019.

In April 2022 The Rec supported legendary Kent band Fate the Juggler at Revelation Ashford with a set which included the debut performance of their forthcoming ep ‘Ord’. 

Currently The Rec is working with Robert Spiers (Fate the Juggler) completing the mixing & mastering of their debut ep ‘Ord’ set for release soon and from which their latest single ‘Son of Sun’ has just been released.
